Day 1: minimum rescue skills for raft guides and safety kayakers

Day 2: raft guiding and pre-trip safety demonstrations (optional for kayakers)

Day 3: Trip leader scenarios for TL candidates and safety kayakers

Day 4: Instructor lectures

 

4+1jour, 6-7-8-9 Mai (10 Mai option for Safety Kayakers)

Raft Instructor must have a high level of Trip-Leader skills and experience. Must be physically capable of demonstrating all Raft Guide skills. Minimum experience: 100 runs as TL. Advanced First Aid with CPR not older than 2 years. Log book as proof of experience before assessment. Personnal insurance covering raft accident.

The above Workshop is followed by

IRF SAFETY KAYAK ASSESSMENT                                                                                                                                                                       

 Kayakers need to participate at all 5 days of the workshop (day number 2 is not an obligation)

Safety Kayakers; highly manoeuvrable whitewater kayaking providing safety and swimmer rescue on commercial whitewater trips, operated by professionals. (inflatable or hardshell canoes and kayaks, oar rafts, catarafts, sledges, river boards, hydrospeed, etc…)

Safety Kayaker must have the skills and knowledge to be a competent Safety Crafter on commercial whitewater trips and operate as a member of the guide crew, knowing standard whitewater rescue techniques as well as have a current standard first aid certificate.

Safety Kayak Instructor (trainer) must have a high level of Safety Kayaker skills and knowledge; also must have an advanced first aid certificate. Safety Kayak Instructor must have high level of skills and experience in training and assessing safety crafters. He/She must be physically capable of demonstrating all Safety Kayaker skills.
